Summer Musical Theatre Kids Camp

The Dinner Theatre summer musical theatre KID’S CAMP invites kids from the ages of 12 -18 to register for the camp to explore their creativity and expand their artistic abilities. Whether you’re a dancer, an actor, a singer, or a technician, there’s a place for you at The Dinner Theatre Summer Kid’s Camp.
Make lifelong memories attending the camp and performing on The Dinner Theatre stage! At the end of this fast-paced, 1-week musical theatre camp, campers will perform onstage in a regularly scheduled Dinner Theatre performance for the general public! Campers will not only be preparing for their dynamic final performance, but they will also receive training in voice/acting, dance, and technical production.
Each day, students will engage in a variety of fun inclusive exercises and lessons that will help them develop foundational skills to become collaborative musical theater performers. Specifically, students will explore the areas of acting/singing, dancing, and technical theatre within a safe learning environment. All activities are hands-on, and all students are expected to participate fully. Each day will have an energetic “camp-like” feel, including warmups and games, and group discussions, among other things.
The camp will focus on two musical theatre experiences:
The Performer
- Daily sessions in acting, singing, and choreography/dance
- Daily sessions in performer preparation: How to prep/carry yourself once cast in a show
- Audition ready headshots
- Performance resume assistance
- Multiple performance opportunities throughout the camp and final performance
The Technician
- Daily sessions in technical production to include set construction, costumes and props
- Headshots
- Technical Theatre resume assistance
- Multiple technical design/work opportunities throughout the camp
- Experience working in our scenic and costume shops
- Experience working pre-performance and during a live performance
The camp will culminate with the campers joining the cast and crew onstage/backstage at one of The Dinner Theatre’s summer performances.
